*Takes a deep breath* OK, I think I've got this. So, these babies were born on the Pongola Game Reserve in South Africa to their 33-year-old mom, who is awesomely named Curve.
"The reaction here has been great," reserve spokesman Donoven Gloy told The Dodo. "Everyone is feeling very positive and they're receiving quite a bit of attention here in South Africa."
Elephant twins are extremely rare, with the births apparently occurring only .5% of the time, said elephant specialist Dr. Ian Whyte, who worked at South Africa's Kruger National Park, in a press release.
Though a few cases of twinning have been reported in the Kruger National Park, an examination of the reproductive tracts of over 1,200 adult cows culled in the Kruger National Park during population control operations did not yield a single case of twins.

Twins often die while competing for their mother's milk, but Gloy says the unnamed duo appears healthy, and that he's optimistic about their future at the 18,000-acre reserve.
