21 Things Inner City Kids Know To Be True

    You can sleep through literally anything.

    1. You never had a backyard pool...

    2. ... and you probably didn't have a backyard either.

    3. And due to lack of backyard space, you probably didn't get to have a dog.

    4. You never got to play and ride your bike in the streets like kids in the suburbs.

    5. You learned the great skill of sleeping through the sounds of garbage trucks...

    6. ... and pretty much anything else.

    7. You basically walked or got public transport everywhere.

    8. But really. Some city kids didn't even have a car.

    9. You get so used to walking through huge crowds of people.

    10. Your school had no fields or grounds.

    11. Literally, you had to get in a bus to go to a park to play sports.

    12. It never got dark enough to be able to see stars.

    13. You either had a tiny bedroom or you had to share with a sibling.

    14. You learned to drive in a car park.

    15. There were so many options of things to do during school holidays.

    16. Though you usually just ended up walking around the shops with your friends.

    17. You got lazy and refused to go to your friends' houses if they lived more than two suburbs away.

    18. You mastered the art of jay walking.

    19. When you went out with friends in the city, it was so easy to get home.

    20. You got used to restaurants being open really late.

    21. And you definitely saw a drug deal go down at least once before you were 12, but you probably didn't realise it.
