The Moving Story Of How Kerala's Women Helped Their "Sisters" In Kashmir During The Floods

    Women volunteers in Kannur, Kochi, and Kottayam spent 48 hours making sanitary napkins to send to Kashmir's women, who were facing a dramatic shortage of the same.

    In the first week of September 2014, Kashmir witnessed the worst flood in 22 years.

    While food and medicines were provided as relief, there was a severe shortage in sanitary napkins for the women.

    Realising that, Get Closer, a CSR management company got in touch with Kerala’s biggest women’s self help organization, Kudumbashree, that manufactured sanitary napkins to send as relief aid.
