Dozens are feared dead after a bus carrying around 50 people was swept into a gorge during floods in Kashmir, India.
Officials in Rajouri district in the Jammu region said the bus was carrying members of a wedding party at the time, the BBC reported.
NDTV reported that although six people are believed to have survived the accident, many more are feared to have died.
Speaking to Agence France-Presse, police Director General Rajendra Kumar said: "Six passengers managed to swim to safety and they were rescued from the gorge. We are using everything at our disposal in the rescue effort, and a crane is in place for pulling the bus out of the river."
The office of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh said National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams had been dispatched to assist with the search and rescue operation.
