On Thursday The Sun published a topless model on page 3.
The newspaper declared: "Further to recent reports in all other media outlets, we would like to clarify that on Page 3 of today's Sun is a picture of Nicole, 22, from Bournemouth.
"We would like to apologise on behalf of the print and broadcast journalists who have spent the last two days talking and writing about us."

It has been reported that The Sun will no longer feature topless models on Page 3 of the newspaper following a lengthy campaign calling for the feature to be scrapped.
The Times had a story today claiming Friday's Page 3 may have been the last.
News UK's Times "understands that Friday's edition...was the last that will carry an image of a glamour model..."
However, The Sun has yet to comment on the speculation. This is what the paper's head of PR had to say on Tuesday morning.
Quite a bit of speculation out there today. One might think broadcasters like the BBC would get an official comment before running a story..

Some people, however, said reports that topless models would be replaced with celebrities posing in underwear meant it was not as great a victory as was being claimed.
