The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

The family were visited earlier today by both sets of grandparents, as well as the duchess's sister Pippa.

TRH were today visited by The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Mr and Mrs Middleton, and Pippa Middleton.

The duke's brother, Prince Harry, is currently serving in Australia.

Princess Charlotte was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, on Saturday morning, May 2.

She was born a couple of days after the royal couple's fourth wedding anniversary.

The bookies had favoured Alice or Charlotte for the baby's name, with Elizabeth, Victoria, Olivia, Alexandra, and Diana all in the running too.

A series of artillery gun salutes have taken place in London today to mark the princess's birth.
