23 Struggles People Who Don't Wear Contact Lenses Will Never Get

Blink, itch, blink, cry, itch, give up on the world, blink.

    1. People constantly telling you how gross it is that you touch your eyeball.

    2. And not being able to take out your contacts without someone commenting on how you can possibly do that.

When non-contact users watch me take out my contacts: "omg doesn't that hurt? How do you touch ur eye? I could never do that. Omg ewww."

    3. Waking up to perfect vision and thinking that a miracle has actually happened.

    4. UNTIL THE PAIN SETS IN AND YOU REALISE WHAT AWFUL, AWFUL THING YOU HAVE DONE.

    5. Having to avoid getting water in your eye at all costs, including in the shower.

    6. Losing the contact lens while it's STILL in your eye.

    7. And having to stick your fingers all up in your eyes to find it until they are searing with pain.

    8. Having to take out your lens because of an eyelash gone rogue.

    9. Or worse, IT ACTUALLY TEARING IN YOUR FUCKING EYE.

    10. Having to look for your glasses blind as a bat, because you were too eager to take off your contact lenses.

    11. The awkwardness of tears streaming down your face at random times and having to convince people you're not having a complete breakdown.

    12. Finding dried contact lenses stuck to all of your favourite shit.

    13. In fact, finding them just everywhere.

    14. And inevitably stepping on them with your bare feet.

    15. Having to fashion a lens case out of anything you can find in order to preserve what are essentially YOUR EYES.

    16. Having to be completely overdramatic whenever one of your contact lenses pops out.

    17. And then having to stick that wrinkled, dirty ass lens back in your eye because you've got no cleaning solution.

    18. Always, at some point, having to fiddle with a particularly troublesome contact, no matter how experienced you are.

    19. Realising, and always at the last minute, that you've run out of contacts for ONE eye.

    20. Having to blink nonstop as soon as your eye becomes slightly irritated.

    21. Because rubbing your eyes for momentary relief will only cause a lifetime of pain.

    22. People never quite understand that wearing contact lenses is a daily struggle.

    23. But you always have to wear them, despite their problems, because you just can't face what you look like when you're wearing your glasses.
