The Creepy Story Of The "Men In Black"

Could Men in Black be based on more than just fiction?

So, you've probably heard of the popular movie Men in Black, which is full of alien encounters and paranormal activity. But what if there were real-life Men in Black...and they were way less friendly than Will Smith?

The "Men in Black" are described as wearing black suits and as being expressionless, cold, and sinister.

And they only contact two types of people: people who claim to have seen a UFO and people who research UFOs.

When they come into contact with people, they present themselves as members of a secret organization. Sometimes, they even show a white card with the word "Security" on it and refer to each other by number, rather than name.

People claim that the Men in Black use scare tactics and intimidation to bully people who claim they've seen UFOs into remaining quiet.

So, who has actually seen these elusive Men in Black? The first report comes from Harold Dahl in 1947.

Dahl was out on his boat in the Puget Sound when he saw six doughnut-shaped objects in the sky. One of the objects actually fell apart and spilled debris, which killed Dahl's dog and injured his son.

While Dahl DID take photos to document the debris, he said they were later fogged over by a Man in Black who told him not to speak of what happened.

The next encounter was reported by Robert Richardson in 1967 in Ohio.

Richardson claimed he collided with a UFO while driving. However, on impact...the object vanished. After the crash, Richardson took home a small lump of metal that he believed was from the UFO.

Only a week later, Richardson said he was visited by two men in black suits who asked for the piece of metal he had collected from the scene of the crash.

When Richardson informed them he had already given the piece of metal to authorities for testing, he said they threatened his wife. He did not hear from the men again after that, and he had no idea how they could have known about the piece of metal.

The next encounter was reported in 1968 by Jack Robinson, a UFO researcher in New Jersey. Robinson claimed he and his wife were terrorized by a man in a black suit who would stand across the street from their apartment building.

They also reported that their apartment appeared to be rummaged through.

After they had seen the Man in Black outside their apartment for three days, the couple’s friend Timothy Green Beckley decided to get a closer look and actually captured this photo of the man:

The next encounters get even more bizarre. In 1976, Dr. Herbert Hopkins, a doctor who was studying a UFO incident, had an encounter with the MIB.

Hopkins received a phone call from a man who identified himself as a representative of a New Jersey UFO organization. The man asked Hopkins if he was alone and available to discuss his research.

Hopkins agreed to talk with him, and by the time they finished discussing what Hopkins had found...the man from the phone was walking up his stairs to his door.

Hopkins' description of the man who appeared at his door is perhaps the most unsettling of any reported MIB sighting. He said the man wore a neatly tailored black suit, was bald with no eyebrows or eyelashes, and had smooth dead white plastic skin and ruby-red lips.

Hopkins claimed the MIB took out a coin and told him to watch it. As he watched it, "it started to develop a silver color instead of copper and then the silver became bluish and the penny was getting quite fuzzy, out of focus, blurred, and then it simply was gone – it slowly dematerialized."

Hopkins said after that, the man ordered him to destroy his UFO research.

The next encounter happened pretty recently...and with someone you might know: Dan Aykroyd.

In January 2002, Aykroyd sold a series to the Sci Fi Channel called Out There, which would break serious ground revolving around topics like UFOs, crop circles, and alien abductions.

On a break during interviews for the upcoming show, he stepped outside and saw a black Ford sedan with a Man in Black standing outside it. He looked away for a brief moment, and when he looked back...the car was gone.

Two hours after the car disappeared, Dan was given bad news from the producers. He said, "We were told not to continue taping and that the show was canceled and none of them would air."

Perhaps the most interesting encounter with the Men in Black was reported by Shane Sovar on Oct. 14, 2008.

Hotel manager Shane Sovar and a security guard reported seeing a large triangular UFO outside the building. A group called the Aerial Phenomenon Investigations Team looked into the incident. They (along with three other witnesses) reported that a couple weeks later, two unidentified Men in Black visited the hotel.

The Men in Black terrified the hotel staff and were looking for Sovar and the hotel guard.

Luckily, Sovar and the guard were not at the hotel at the time. However, cameras caught the Men in Black on the hotel security footage.

Sovar said the hotel guests described the men as tall with black suits, identical faces, no eyebrows or eyelashes, and extremely pale skin.

So who are the Men in Black? Are they aliens? Are they a government agency trying to cover something up? We may never know the truth, and for now...it remains unsolved.
