1. ALASKA: Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria, Anchorage

Rating: 9.0 / 10

Why it's awesome: Specialty house brews on tap plus a huge pizza menu. And, if you can't drink your fill while you're there, growlers of Broken Tooth beer are available for carry out.

2. ALABAMA: Gallette's, Tuscaloosa

Rating: 7.9 / 10

Why it's awesome: Their signature drink, the Yellowhammer, is mixed big-batch style from a secret recipe, but it's essentially jungle juice. The University of Alabama local bar apparently goes through 4,000–5,000 cups of the stuff every home game day. Roll Tide!

3. ARKANSAS: Dugan's Pub, Little Rock

Rating: 8.2 / 10

Why it's awesome: Live music, darts, a good beer selection, and a menu of Irish pub food that includes solid burgers, but also more eclectic things like Guinness chicken.

4. ARIZONA: Yucca Tap Room, Tempe

Rating: 9.4 / 10

Why it's awesome: There's live music pretty much every night, ranging from open mike to rock to hip-hop. And, the Whiskey and Tap Room boasts an impressive selection of craft beers and micro-distilled spirits from around the country.

Rating: 9.6 / 10

Why it's awesome: The legendary WeHo gay bar is massive, with an outdoor patio, multiple bars, fireplaces, and plenty of comfy booths. As the night goes on, the atmosphere gets clubbier, and barely dressed male dancers take the stage.

6. COLORADO: ViewHouse Eatery, Bar & Rooftop, Denver

Rating: 7.7 / 10

Why it's awesome: Within walking distance of Coors Field (home of the Colorado Rockies), the roof-deck boasts great views of the city. It's a solid sports bar, with plenty of screens and way-above-average bar food.

7. CONNECTICUT: BAR, New Haven

Rating: 9.1 / 10

Why it's awesome: First of all, there's a mashed potato and bacon pizza on the menu (yes, please). There are multiple rooms, each with a slightly different vibe — a sit-down eating area, a pool room, a lounge, etc. — and a solid selection of house-made microbrews.

8. DELAWARE: The Starboard, Dewey Beach

Rating: 9.1 / 10

Why it's awesome: The beach side venue is the perfect summer day drinking spot, with lots of outdoor space and a mind-blowing Bloody Mary bar. And every year, they host a "Running of the Bull" party that's infamous among locals.

9. FLORIDA: Clevelander, Miami Beach

Why it's awesome: Located in the eponymous South Beach hotel, the venue has roof-decks with both city and ocean views. The pool party is rowdy and never-ending, and it's the perfect place to slurp a Miami Vice.

Why it's awesome: Well, "Because without beer, things don't seem to go as well," according to Free State. The beers on tap — brewed in the company's 14-barrel brewhouse — are as varied as the clientele, making for a casual, welcoming environment.

Why it's awesome: For starters, the custom Fat Head taps (pictured above) are hilariously unique and the beer is great. Be warned that the food portions are huge; you could order a regular sandwich, or, you could be bold and go for a "headwich," which promises to be at least the size of your head.

Rating: 9.0 / 10

Why it's awesome: Sixty drafts and 300 bottles is a lot of beer. Go on a Wednesday and you can pair one of said beers with a $3 burger.

Rating: 9.3 / 10

Why it's awesome: The 24 taps are hooked up to a digital tap list monitor, so that you can see exactly how much of each keg is left, both at the bar and on the website. There are a lot of great, obscure beers on the reserve list, and plenty of board games on the tables.

Rating: 9.3 / 10

Why it's awesome: At Frankford Hall, you get all the draws of a regular beer garden — quality beer, huge steins, long tables — plus ping-pong tables and Jenga. And in the winter, you can warm up by the fire pit.

Why it's awesome: It's a little tacky, but in an undoubtedly tongue-in-cheek way. There are plenty of TVs that screen multiple games at once, plus a Big Buck Hunter machine for anyone who doesn't feel like sitting and watching sports. On weekends, there's a buffet brunch and Bloody Mary bar.

46. VERMONT: The Farmhouse Tap & Grill, Burlington

Rating: 8.9 / 10

Why it's awesome: Order a whole pint of your favorite beer, or try a half-pint of something new. In the summertime, patrons can sit at the picnic tables or on couches that line the outdoor patio. And for winter months, there's a basement with darts, pool, and a working fireplace.

Why it's awesome: The outdoor patio is great, but if you prefer to be inside, there's a huge skylight over the bar that fills the dining room with sunlight. There are plenty of great beers on tap, baskets of fresh pretzels to go with them, and shuffleboard tables for those who want to do more than just sit and drink.

48. WISCONSIN: Horny Goat Hideaway, Milwaukee

Why it's awesome: Located right on the bank of the Kinnickinnic River, you can walk, drive, or boat to this popular spot. There are 13 Horny Goat beers on on tap at all times, and in the summer the bar organizes and hosts a volleyball league on its outdoor patio.

49. WEST VIRGINIA: Mountain State Brewing Co., Morgantown

Rating: 7.0 / 10

Why it's awesome: The brewery makes just five beers, but all are pretty stellar. Plus, the pizzas coming out of the giant, wood-fired oven are delicious, and they make the whole place smell amazing.

50. WYOMING: Snake River Brewery & Restaurant, Jackson

Rating: 8.5 / 10

Why it's awesome: Snake River claims to be "America's most award winning brewery since 1994," which is pretty awesome, if a little ambiguous. The mountain views are gorgeous, and it goes without saying that the beer is good. The food is pretty great too — try the peach and chorizo pizza, or go with the more familiar pulled pork.
