Documentary Shows Meaningful Connection Between A Veteran And Animals

Vietnam veteran Bob Miner found a way to rebuild his spirits by taking in abused and abandoned animals since he "couldn't stand people." Watch the exclusive trailer for the new documentary, "Wild Home," here.

DEW Animal Kingdom was created in 1980 by Bob Miner; it eventually grew from farm animals to some more exotic critters.

Miner builds the facilities himself, and with the help of his wife, Julie. They met in 1994 when Julie became a volunteer at DEW.

"He found that he could communicate with people through the animals..."

"...It was a great connection for him back to people," Julie said.

Over 200 species of animals found a home in DEW, and Miner was able to find a new outlook on life.

Watch the full trailer for the documentary here, exclusively, before the movie airs at the Camden International Film Festival.
