25 Things Everyone Who Played Cricket As A Kid Will Relate To

Breaking the neighbours' window was worth getting the six.

    1. That moment when you get a brand new bat, and didn't really want to share it with anyone.

    2. Of course, by the end of it, it would look like this.

    3. The impromptu game always called for some improvisation when it came to stumps.

    4. Practically anything worked.

    5. There was always that one guy that came in a full kit.

    8. Although galli (street) cricket was the best.

    9. Broken windows meant everyone got into trouble, regardless of who actually hit the ball.

    10. But, more importantly, broken windows also meant a six, and that glory went entirely to the batsman.

    11. Although all that euphoria came crashing down when the neighbours tried to teach you a lesson by refusing to return the ball.

    12. The "one bounce, one hand" rule got many a player out and many a player annoyed.

    13. And when the ball went over a wall, and into someone's compound, there was always this one kid that was forced to go and get it.

    14. This was always a point of contention.

Shouting "IN!" halfway down the wicket in an attempt to convince your opponent he/she has not just ran you out.

    15. And of course the never ending fight about who will get the ball when it goes into the gutter.

    16. The guy who brought the bat would throw a fit and leave if he got bowled out.

    17. This was one of the most heartbreaking moments that you've ever faced.

    25. And most importantly you remember loving the game so much, that you couldn't even wait for the sun to come up to start playing.
