Holy Crap, This Guy Got Bitten By A Rattlesnake During His Wedding Photos

Worst wedding crasher ever.

Meet newlyweds Johnny and Laura Benson. So happy, so in love, so blissfully unaware that the worst wedding crasher ever is about to strike.

The Bensons were taking post-ceremony photos at the Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins, Colorado, on June 20, when a RATTLESNAKE decided to have a little snack.

The couple were about 50 feet from the parking lot when the young rattlesnake jumped out onto the path and struck, their photographer Maddie Wilbur told BuzzFeed.

Just look at this asshole.

As luck would have it, a Larimer County Park Ranger was driving by at the same time, and Wilbur and the couple managed to flag him down.

The ranger elevated Benson's leg while his wife of less than two hours called the paramedics to the scene.

And just like a good photographer, Wilbur caught the whole thing on camera once help had arrived.

Benson is totally fine now, but things were touch and go for a little while.

"Not knowing if the rattler had injected venom, the initial prognosis was pretty dire," Wilbur said. "At a minimum, they said he could be in the hospital for several hours to assess the bite. At worst, if he needed anti-venom, he could be in the hospital for several days."

To figure that out, paramedics had to give Benson the least desirable wedding getaway ever — an ambulance to Poudre Valley Hospital.

There, Benson got good news. The rattlesnake had injected no venom, and he didn't have any swelling or symptoms of an infection.

He did, however, get a pretty insane souvenir from his wedding day.

Benson was released after less than 20 minutes in the ER, which means he and his new wife made it back in time for most of their wedding reception.

"I’ve never seen such a emotional 'grand entrance' as all 184 guests cheered when Johnny and Laura walked in, and showered them in a sea of passionate hugs," Wilbur said.
