The Vigil Idiot Reviews "Tiger Zinda Hai", Our Annual Reminder That Bhai Roxx But Logic Doesn't Roxx

Although, to be fair, what Salman Khan movie isn't a reminder of this?

What can I say about the Ek Tha Tiger sequel – Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai – that'll make any difference to anything, really? In true Salman Khan fashion, he's waited till the last week of 2017 to leave with the biggest Bollywood hit of the year. He had a minor dud with Tubelight, but it's literally back to business as usual with this one.

See, here's the thing. Tiger Zinda Hai, unlike Tubelight, passes the "Bhaichdel Test" with flying colours. Even in scenes where Bhai isn't there, other characters are basically discussing Bhai's character. Tubelight gave way too much screen time to Sohail Khan and, let's face it, nobody wants that. It's all about the basics, man. A true Bhai movie is all Bhai all the time. (Even if that does include scenes of him threatening animals in the wild and running over people in an SUV – both things that happen during the course of this film.)

P.S. – Katrina Kaif is also in this movie and she's allowed to kick some ass for the 20 seconds she gets to do anything in it.
