If you've been paying attention to the equestrian events so far at this year's Olympics, you may have noticed something of a ~trend~.
And you might be wondering if all horses and humans involved in such activities are compelled to sport dainty headwear.
But actually, the horses' hats are called "ear bonnets" or "ear nets"...
...and while you can get some pretty fashionable ones...
...they're primarily meant to keep flies away, and to muffle sound so horses stay calm.
So calm.
So fly-less.
