This French Town Was The Inspiration For "Beauty And The Beast" And It's So Cute

I want to go to there.

Even if you haven't seen the live-action Beauty and the Beast remake yet, you know Belle HATES her adorable French town.

It's full of stupid, provincial people.

    And their stupid, provincial bread.

But it turns out that Conques, France, the real town that her village of Villeneuve is based on, is completely adorable!

It has cute lil' houses with blue shutters and window frames.

And even a town square that's MADE for a song-and-dance number.

Production designer Sarah Greenwood told The Hollywood Reporter that Conques was one of the villages in the south of France she used for inspiration when designing the set.

It's easy to see why Greenwood picked Conques, TBH.

Look, I get that Belle's fellow townspeople are illiterate and mean, but I feel like it's hard to be angsty when your town is this gorgeous.

Look at the winding cobblestone alleys!

The flowers just bursting forth from left and right!

Honestly, they really could've just filmed all the town scenes right there.

Good job, Sarah Greenwood. Good job, indeed.

I want to go to there.
