Marlen Williams, a teenager from Texas, recently uploaded to Twitter some photos of his ~promposal~ with a cute, basketball-themed sign.

Marlen presented the sign, which appears to read: "You'll run the 1, I'll be 2. I'd love to take a shot at prom with you," to a female friend with a small toy basketball.
But as sweet as the concept was, it had a lot of people confused by what exactly his sign said.

This person thought Marlen would be better off with a more straightforward approach.

And this one thought it wasn't really his fault at all.
