.The concept was originally a lot darker, with the Belchers using the human flesh from the crematorium next door in their burgers. Its creator, Loren Bouchard, said: “I originally thought the show should be about a family that runs a restaurant who are cannibals.”
.John Roberts, who plays Linda, is the only actor who doesn’t use his normal talking voice. He was originally found via his YouTube videos where he played a character based on his mother, who is incredibly similar to Linda. So in some ways Roberts is playing his mother.
.Unlike with most animations, the Bob’s Burgers cast record together so they can play off each other. Loren Bouchard believes that this approach is ideal “If your goal is to have that little spark of naturalism and interactivity and the sense that they were in the same room at the same time or at least recording at the same time.”
.There’s a Bob’s Burgers and Archercrossover episode. H. Jon Benjamin plays Bob and Archer, so fans had been wanting a crossover for a while before this aired.
.The burger of the day special has never been repeated and neither have the shop names in the opening titles.
.Official Bob’s Burgers comic books exist and are written and drawn by the artists from the show.
.Ollie and Andy Pesto are voiced by Sarah and Laura Silverman, who are also siblings.
.Unlike in most animations, the cast are encouraged to improvise. H. Jon Benjamin said in an interview that “sometimes there are entire scenes that are improvised – not necessarily used in the final show”.
