    In 1971, two law professors formed an octet composed of members of the Law School community to sing carols in the Great Hall. The activity quickly grew in scale, and in 1977, students organized their first musical production, Trial By Jury. The show was presented once in the historic Silverman Great Hall, and once at Houston Hall.

    Since the 1980s, a large group of University of Chicago law students have annually performed an original two-act musical featuring new lyrics set to familiar tunes. Students run the whole show - from performing in the ten piece pit band, tech, set design and construction; to writing, directing, choreography, and acting.
