"American Horror Story" Just Released The "1984" Opening Credits, And It's A Bloody '80s Time Capsule

Ryan Murphy said the concept was inspired by an original fan cut posted on Twitter.

With less than a week to go until the season premiere, Ryan Murphy just released the title sequence for American Horror Story: 1984, and it looks SO ๐Ÿ‘ GOOD ๐Ÿ‘!

With shots of cassette tapes, Ronald Reagan, and โ€” of course โ€” exercise videos, the opening credits are basically like opening up a blood-soaked time capsule from the '80s.

And as a graphic design nerd, let me just say โ€” the credits themselves are *chef's kiss* absolutely perfect.

In his Instagram post, Murphy also shared that the concept for the title sequence was inspired by an "original 'fan' cut...posted on Twitter." In fact, Murphy liked it so much that he brought the fan, whose name is Corey Vega, on board to "[evolve] the concept into something major."

Here's Corey's fan version, which is pretty darn similar to the official one.

I did a thing.... #AHS1984 Fan Made Title Sequence... why? Boredom. Lol thinking about posting it as part of the intro to my AHS: Theories and Speculation Videos... should I? @marygirlmoody @_AHSCentral @AHSFX @ahsnews_feed #AHS #AHSFX #AmericanHorrorStory

American Horror Story: 1984 premieres Sept. 18 on FX.
