Netflix Just Released A Feature That Finally Stops Previews From Autoplaying

    The evil has been defeated.

If you have Netflix, then you've been one of millions who's had to sift through the minefield that is autoplay previews.

And just to remind you of what those are, they are the automatic clips that aggressively play when you're browsing through Netflix and hover over a movie or show for more than a second or two.

While some may find this feature useful (who even are you), others have been veryyyy vocal about their hate of it over the years.

i love netflix’s new layout, “scroll carefully because the little title cards are autoplay video lava"

I hate the Netflix autoplay feature. It's like poking your head into a store that you're kinda sorta interested in browsing, only to have somebody run at you screaming, "CAN I HELP YOU FIND ANYTHING????"

Well, autoplay haters rejoice, because Netflix has heard your complaints (and jokes) and has just released a feature that allows you turn off those autoplay previews once and for all!

Some people find this feature helpful. Others not so much. We’ve heard the feedback loud and clear — members can now control whether or not they see autoplay previews on Netflix. Here's how: https://t.co/6V2TjEW6HD https://t.co/zbz4E8fVab

Here's how ya do it. First, make sure you're signed into your Netflix account — which, like, duh.

Next, click your profile icon in the right hand corner to pull down the menu, then select "Manage Profiles."

You will then be given the option to edit the settings for each individual profile on your Netflix account. Select the profile you want to turn autoplay off for by clicking the little pencil on the profile.

Next, you'll notice that "Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices" is checked by default. Just uncheck that, hit save, and you're on the road to a brand new future.

It's no surprise that people are already rejoicing at this newfound feature.

I know it's been a crazy year already. But today you can hold your loved ones close and tell them we did it. @netflix is finally allowing us to turn off autoplay previews while browsing.

Listen, the world is a shitshow, so we all need this tiny bit of very good news. EAT SHIT NETFLIX AUTOPLAY https://t.co/k0pvtCq1Mp

Huzzah. Discussing the awfulness of Netflix autoplay was is literally the only twitter thread topic I ever saw where every single person agreed. https://t.co/i92ERZmWyC

    Thank you, Netflix. Thank you.
