WHY: Anchorage's most popular sports bar is massive — two stories, 25-foot ceilings, an elaborate 80 foot bar, and numerous large projection and flat screens. So you'll be sure to have a great seat to catch your favorite teams no matter where you sit. The original bar — which is attached — is a log cabin that opened in 1962. The bar also features a heated back deck overlooking Campbell Creek.

WHY: The old school soccer pub has been welcoming soccer fans in Santa Monica for over 23 years. They serve a traditional hearty English menu and their draught beers in 20 oz. glasses. If you wake up early enough of the weekends you'll be able to find your favorite team on one of their many big screen TVs. If you're in the area Cock n' Bull is a must visit for the World Cup.

WHY: Three Lions is a relatively young bar, but it was designed specifically to be a a "football pub." The Denver establishment is an homage to thousands of London pubs that revolve around "the beautiful game." This is going to be the bar's first World Cup and considering the passion they have for the sport a visit would surely be a memorable one.

WHY: Anna Liffey's is decorated with stone walls, wood-beamed ceilings, and artifacts that'll make you feel transported to the Emerald Isle. The New Haven staple claims to be a "sports fans heaven, showing all local sporting events and soccer matches."

WHY: Catherine Rooney's prides itself in being your English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and World Cup headquarters. Named after the owners' mothers, the classic Irish pub has great specials and promises to provide a great atmosphere for the biggest sporting event in the world.

WHY: The popular Florida pub has been catering to soccer fans since 1997 and is a great escape from the South Florida summer humidity. They feature great Happy Hour specials and their TVs are tuned into any game you could imagine. When England played Ecuador in a World Cup tuneup on June 4th they provided a shuttle for fans to Sun Life stadium.

They broadcast English Premier League Games live, as well as many of the top world soccer matches. WHY: Finn McCool's was established in 2002 when a couple Belfast transplants living in New Orleans baught a well-worn bar and converted into an Irish Pub. Like many New Orleans businesses it was washed out after Katrina, but returned stronger than ever. It features one of the best bartenders in all of New Orleans and will surely more than satisfy your World Cup needs. It's the neighborhood bar you wish you had.

If you plan on visiting for the World Cup, keep in mind this is the kind of place that starts to fill up an hour before a regular season EPL match — so get there early.

WHAT: Jackson's All-American Sports Bar

WHY: Admittedly, it was difficult to find a great sports bar in Wyoming, but by all accounts Jackson's All-American Sports Grill in Cheyenne is exactly that. The bar is stocked with cold beer and covered in TVs and the beers will sure be flowing when the World Cup starts.
