There Are Avocados Five Times The Size Of Regular Ones. And You Can Buy Them.

One Avozilla could equal 18 pieces of avo on toast.

A family farm in Bungundarra, Queensland, is currently harvesting its crop of insanely huge, specially bred avocados known as "Avozillas".

The Groves family farm owns the only commercial licence to grow the fruit in Australia. Some of the "Avozillas" have been weighing up to 1.8 kilograms.

Farmer David Groves told ABC News you get less actual fruit – in terms of kilos – when dealing with Avozillas. But their short run and growing cult status has made them absolutely worth growing.

The avocados are (obviously) quite enormous – around five times larger than a regular Hass avocado. It's a South African variety, but there are 400 trees on the Groves farm.

"They aren't genetically modified; they are just bred like any other fruit or vegetable crop," said Groves.

People are quite impressed with the larger variety and understandably want to give them a try.
