10 Valuable Things I Took Away From Vex King's "Good Vibes, Good Life"

This book literally changed my life (not to be dramatic).

Let me start by saying I’m someone that seriously loves self-development books. From Jay Shetty’s Think Like A Monk to Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now – you name it, I’ve probably read it. But if I’m honest, there’s a lot of books I’ve read that seem so overly complicated that a lot of it just goes over my head.

So when Vex King’s Sunday Times Best Seller, Good Vibes, Good Life, came out, it’s fair to say I was excited to read it, but I had no idea (not to be dramatic or anything) that it would quite literally change my life.

After reading, re-reading...and re-reading this book some more, there’s a few points that stood out to me so much that I had to share them with you. Here are some of my favourite moments from the book and how they’ve impacted my life so far, in the hopes you may get something from it too!

    1. Self-love is about having your own best interests at heart. It's about finding a balance between mindset and action.

    2. The idea that you attract what your mind focuses on, which is why it's important to make a conscious effort to turn your thoughts into positive ones.

    3. Energy is contagious, so when you're not feeling your best try to be in the company of people that are feeling better than you are.

    4. Try not to take yourself away from the present moment by fixating on the past or worrying about the future – live in the now.

    5. Create more awareness of yourself so that you're able to make changes to your own behaviour when you notice unhealthy habits.

    6. Make sure the voice inside your head is always kind to you and doesn't put you down.

    7. Forgiveness isn't just for the other person. You need it for your own sake, so that you can claim back your power.

    8. The greatest self-growth happens when you challenge yourself by doing things outside of your comfort zone.

    9. When you try to control an outcome, you miss the beauty of the journey. Have faith and trust the process as you work towards something rather than strictly fixating on the end goal.

    10. If you go searching for happiness in a new job or relationship, you won't find it because it's something that has to come from within yourself.
