Netflix Just Announced "Squid Game: The Challenge" — Here's How You Can Participate

    Let the games begin.

Squid Game took the internet by storm in 2021. The show shattered records as the US Netflix's #1 title; practically everyone was tweeting theories, and the cast swept at the SAG Awards. Netflix even announced Season 2 earlier this year.

But, Squid Game fans, get ready because there's something even bigger coming. Through an intense trailer (seen below), Netflix announced that the show's concept would be broken down into a reality show called Squid Game: The Challenge.

Here's what we know so far: The show will be filmed in the UK and have 10 episodes.

456 participants will play challenges similar to the ones in the actual show (minus the life-threatening consequences), and the last one standing will receive the $4.56 million cash prize.

Netflix has opened up casting calls for people in the US, UK, and globally.

There are other requirements, but for starters, you have to be at least 21 years old to apply, and you must also speak English.

The application also requires you to record a one-minute video on why you want to participate and what you would do with the cash prize.

Don't worry about the punishments from the Squid Game series though: If you're interested in participating, the application form does say that "the stakes are high, but in this game, the worst fate is going home empty-handed."
